Alleluia! Magic Valley Cinema 13 will open save every day on May 20
The residents of Twin Falls have long waited for their local theater to open for hours and days before the pandemic, and now that wait is finally coming to an end.
Perhaps no business was hit harder than theaters in the United States when the outbreak of Covid-19 began more than 15 months ago. I passed the Magic Valley Cinema 13 dozens of times over the past year, and have been depressed each time over the drastic cuts and loss of revenue the theater has suffered.
There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. With the recent news from Idaho progressing to Stage 4 of the Covid-19 rebound plan, gatherings of more than 50 people can again take place, which means that cinemas should soon be ready to operate at full capacity. The cinema operated at reduced hours, and only from Thursday to Sunday.
I contacted Magic Valley Cinema 13 on Wednesday afternoon and my hunch was confirmed by the recorded message. I called the ticket office at 208-595-2089, and a man’s voice informed me that the cinema is reopening its pre-Covid-19 hours and days, the May 20.
Wearing a mask is something moviegoers can likely continue to do once the theater opens at full capacity, and seven days a week. I’m sure the disinfectant will always be there for those who want to protect themselves as much as possible.
Dozens of films have been postponed to 2020 due to the pandemic, but we are hopeful that production will resume and those films will be shipped to theaters across the United States.
