King Promise’s popularity soars as Odoi and Fosu-Mensah declare him their favorite

Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer-songwriter Gregory Bortey Newman, known by his stage name as King Promise, is enjoying a new wave of popularity in international sports and music circles.
Indeed, two international football stars, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, have publicly declared him as their favorite musician.
Hudson-Odoi arrived in Ghana last week and was greeted on arrival at Kotoka International Airport by the musician and even went further afield to play a football match dubbed King Promise XI against Hudson-Odoi XI.
Previously, Odoi had said that hit maker Oh Yeah was his favorite Ghanaian musician and hung out with him since arriving in the country.
Just when the big moment seemed to be coming and the lights of moments of grace were fading, former Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah sparked another brilliant moment for the singer whose song Abena brought to life. gained popularity among Ghanaians, both at home, abroad and abroad. During an interview on Accra-based Happy FM, Fosu-Mensah declared his love for the musician and said he listened to his music.
There are many prominent singers in Ghana including 2015 BET Award winner Stonebwoy, globally acclaimed Sarkodie, dancehall artist Shatta Wale, Kofi Kinaata and many others who most believe could have been appear in the list of both players, but King Promise won their hearts.
Fosu-Mensah, now with German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, met Hudson-Odoi as the two exchanged brief talks at an unknown location in Accra.
