Knights Of Swoops for Reynolds’ First Illustrated Novel for Intermediate Level
Independent publisher Knights Of dove for Stuntman, meanwhile, the first mid-level illustrated fiction title by author and United States National Ambassador for Children’s Literature Jason Reynolds.
Eishar Brar, Editorial Director, acquired British and Commonwealth rights from Charlotte Bodman at Rights People. The title will be released on November 4, 2021 and will feature illustrations by Raúl the Third.
Stuntman, meanwhile is Reynolds’ first illustrated fiction for intermediate readers and is inspired by the separation from his parents. It will follow a new superhero, Portico Reeves, and explore issues that kids find it hard to talk about, including bullying and anxiety.
Reynolds said: “I couldn’t be more excited about the release of Knights Of Stuntman, meanwhile. I think this story, about the slowness of the imagination, the refuge of a true friendship and the complexity of the family, is universal. We all want to be superheroes. We all want to save the people we love. And most of the time, we often need the people we love to save us. I’m so grateful that once again Knights Of, the coolest superhero, is up to the task. “
Knights Of has released six Reynolds tracks, most recently Look both ways, who won the CILIP Carnegie Medal earlier this year.
Brar commented, “We are so proud to publish our seventh book with Jason. As soon as we read Stuntman, meanwhile our entire team knew he had once again broken the mold of a great children’s book. While bringing on board a very talented new illustrator, Jason writes so relative with the heart and humor we know him for. The work of Raúl the Third brings a whole new dimension to history; we can’t wait for the kids to step into Portico Reeves’ world. “
