Man arrested after armed robbery at Bay City pharmacy


BAY CITY, MI – A man was arrested after police responded to an armed robbery at a Bay City pharmacy on Monday February 1, according to a statement from the Bay City Public Safety Department.

Officers responded to a call reporting an armed robbery with a knife at the Anderson Pharmacy in the 1100 block of Marquette Avenue in Bay City at around 11:20 a.m., police said.

As officers responded, central dispatch provided them with a description of the suspect and the vehicle used in the incident, according to the press release. Within minutes, a police officer spotted a vehicle matching the description and started following it, police said.

The vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence on the west side.

The driver, a 62-year-old man from Bay City, matched the suspect’s description and was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a large knife and stolen goods taken in the theft, police said.

No one was injured in the incident and the suspect was held in the Bay County Jail.
