Man climbs large hole in Brooklyn sidewalk for TikTok video, infuriates neighbors
A man who found a big hole in a Brooklyn sidewalk has gone down in it to make TikTok videos – and now the neighbors are saying they’re pissed off.
Danny Wolverton is a magician and performance artist who isn’t afraid to be extra.
His latest project received a lot of attention, both good and bad. After finding a random sinkhole in July, he came down to explore it and started filming TikTok videos.
Now his antics have garnered millions of views. The debacle prompted the city to plug the hole last week, but many neighbors are angered by his joke.
When News 12 arrived, the locals were angry and demanded that we leave. Many say he exploited an already existing problem.
They even called the authorities. Some of their worries are that the hole will get worse and scare off rodents, or that the kids will want to copy it.
Some also tell News 12 that they repeatedly asked him to stop and that he ignored them.
A Department of Transportation spokesperson told News 12: “We remind all New Yorkers, even moles, that it is dangerous to crawl under the sidewalk.”
News 12 has also contacted Community Board 3 and has yet to receive a response.
