Opening of the Museum of Modern Electronic Music with an exclusive exhibition by Sven Väth
On April 6, 2022, the Museum of Modern Electronic Music (MOMEM) will be officially inaugurated in Frankfurt. Located directly in the heart of the main town at the Hauptwache, the museum will present the exhibition “Sven Väth – It’s easy to say what saved us from hell”; a collaboration between close friends Sven Väth and Tobias Rehberger.
MOMEM Director Alex Azary said: “There is no better opening exhibition for MOMEM, as Sven Väth and Tobias Rehberger have each, in their own way, brought the culture of electronic music from Frankfurt to frankfurt. in the world. “
Together, DJ and electronic art producer Väth and visual artist Rehberger are currently organizing the opening MOMEM exhibition, in which they will jointly explore Sven Väth’s private archives. Records, photographs, flyers, films, sounds and Väth’s private art collection form the center and starting point of this journey into the common past of electronic music culture since the late 1980s.
A very personal vision of this most important piece in cultural history emerges, in which the culture of electronic music has socially formed in a few European cities such as Berlin, London, Manchester and, of course, Frankfurt am Main. the-Main, and from there began his triumphant march around the world. “We are very excited to work together on this exhibition and we ourselves are delighted to see where this common journey will take us,” Sven Väth and Tobias Rehberger are happily motivated.
The opening of MOMEM, dedicated to documenting, processing and shifting this cultural history of electronic music, will naturally be celebrated with a big public party with Sven Väth on April 8, 2022.
