Shapeshifter, Kora and Salmonella Dub with Tiki Taane among the 24 acts announced for Rhythm & Alps 2021
Shapeshifter is one of the main Kiwi groups included in the 24 artists announced today to join the Rhythm & Alps 2021 lineup in Cardrona, Wanaka.
Kiwi music giants Shapeshifter, Kora and Salmonella Dub united with Tiki Taane are part of a mix of 24 new international and local groups announced Wednesday to join the Rhythm & Alps 2021 lineup.
Now in its 11th year, the South Island’s largest New Years music and camping festival will take place over three days and four unique stages, December 29-31, at Cardrona Valley in Wanaka. Tickets are on sale now.
A formidable contingent of drum & bass artists has also been announced, with world-renowned kiwi duos Concord Dawn and The Upbeats headlining.
They will be joined by Auckland-based London DJ Chiccoreli, Belgian DJ and producer Alix Perez and British DJ Harriet Jaxxon, who combines with the soulful vocals of New Zealand MC Tali. Tali, accompanied by her full live band, will also offer festival-goers a set of contemporary and classic drum and bass tracks.

One of the most famous figures in global dance music culture, Andy C, will also perform at Rhythm & Alps, alongside Dom Dolla, the Melbourne DJ and house producer named ‘future star’ by BBC Radio’s Pete Tong. One, Amsterdam Drum and bass maestro Lenzman, and eclectic British multi-genre DJ Mamadafunk.
Bettors can also expect to take advantage of the musical talents of Aw B, Byte Size, DJ Andy Heartthrob, Hurricane Emily, Isaac Chambers, MissB, Sophia, Texture and Wattsson.
These artists join the previously announced lineup from June, which also included some of New Zealand’s most famous music names, including reggae number one LAB, and hip hop favorites Scribe & P-Money – who recruited Harmony & Rhythm Band from Ōtautahi. to help deliver a unique ensemble with live instruments including brass and percussion.
Also appearing are Bradley Zero, CC: Disco !, Filth with Bbyfacekilla, Diesel, Half.Queen & Zeki, Lee Mvtthews, Montell2099, Muroki, underground electronic DJ Paige Julia, Australian hip hop artist Sampa the Great and Shy FX & Endurance MC.
