Spotify electronic sensation, Emmit Fenn
With producer and co-writer Billie Eilish ‘Bitches Broken Hearts’ on her CV and song ‘Painting Grays’ sitting at number 1 on Spotify Global Viral for seven consecutive days, Emmit Fenn is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
At the end of last month, the talented singer, songwriter and instrumentalist released his long-awaited debut album Far from here. The ten-track album explores deeply emotional subjects, and Fenn exposes her soul with vulnerable lyrics and haunting soundscapes.
“The main theme of this album is to find hope in vulnerability. With this album, I wanted to be completely open to my past on a very intimate level and show how I grew from it, ”Fenn said of the concept behind the album.
We met Fenn as part of our Get To Know series.
How did your artist name come about?
It was given to me at birth!

I make all kinds of music in almost every genre so I would tell her to dive into the catalog and find something that she likes or I would just ask her what inspires her and create something new!
Tell us about some of your tracks; their titles and what are they talking about?
The table is on a table. A wooden table. A pretty one too. I was inspired by it and had to write a song about it! But actually, I’d rather you listen to the songs and tell me what they mean to you. Sometimes revealing the true meaning of the song can distort the experience of the song for other listeners as it can have multiple meanings for many people and I am only one person.
What do you like about your hometown?
I grew up in Berkeley, California which is the center of all the cultures you can imagine and I cannot imagine growing up anywhere else.
Highlight of career so far?
Being able to do music as a full time job is my strong point! Work closely with Apple on their business ventures, work with Billie Eilish and play Coachella!
A favorite non-musical hobby?
Surfing, climbing, playing basketball, spending time with friends. Everything to get me out of my studio chair.
What’s on your dream rider?
My dream car? Probably my 2015 Ford SUV that I have right now… But for a Tour Rider as long as there is water, I’m good.
A dream musical collaboration?
No one at the moment.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A little older, I still hope to make some decent music.
What’s your favorite karaoke song?
Suite for cello n ° 1 in G major.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t lose your dinosaur.
What is your obsession that no one would guess after listening to your music?
