Van Hornesville woman killed in car crash in Herkimer County
A woman from a hamlet in Herkimer County has died following a car accident in German Flatts.
Authorities are investigating after emergency responders from the New York State Police, Mohawk Fire Department, German Flatts Fire Department, Van Hornsville Fire Department, MOVAC and of Mercy Flight were called to the scene on Aney Road/Route 116 around 6:02 p.m. Friday. , July 29, 2022.
According to a written statement from the New York State Police, Trina L. Graudons, 48, of Van Hornesville, New York, was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee “…northbound on Aney Hill Road, just south of State Route 167 when it lost control. , left the roadway on the west shoulder of the roadway and failed to maintain control of the vehicle. The vehicle then struck the end of a guide rail, was born in the air and hit a utility pole.
According to police, Graudons was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the incident. What could have caused the Graudons to lose control of the vehicle is not known at this time.
